Spurred on by the experience of working in the wrong job(s) for 17 years, Bernie (Andrew Bernard) realised that early guidance or experiences would have helped him make better choices with his life, rather than drifting.
Through his passion and the desire to work with people, he set up Innovative Enterprise to deliver exciting and different enterprise and development workshops and resources to organisations and schools in the UK.
The strapline for Bernie’s business is “Bringing the Future to Life” – which sums up what he does! In the past 9 years he has worked with over 70,000 people in colleges, schools and businesses to change their attitude, focus and life stories!
Bernie is also an active Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association.
Q: If you weren’t a speaker, what do you think you’d be?
I’d like to think I would be a professional cyclist as I got a place in the national championship as a schoolboy.
Q: What was your favourite subject in school and why?
I liked french because I was good at it.
Q: If you could change one thing you did as a young person, what would it be?
Think more about the long term reasons for learning and where it can take you rather than the short term attitude of thinking I was too cool for school.
